The health risks of cholesterol: good and bad cholesterol, and health hazards

Cholesterol is a lipid sterol family that plays a central role in many biochemical processes. Cholesterol is present in all cells. Its high can cause gallstones or constitute a risk factor for atherosclerosis.

The word refers to a cholesterol molecule and should not be confused with the terms of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol referring to HDL and LDL cholesterol in carriers of the blood.

The good cholesterol and bad cholesterol:

There is clearly no two types of cholesterol. But cholesterol is transported in the blood transport systems with very different roles: Lipoprotein LDL (low density lipoprotein) and HDL (high density lipoprotein).

HDL cholesterol in recovering the bodies have too much to bring it to the liver where it is eliminated. They have the power to clean our streets of all the fatty deposits of poor quality and reduce the risk of seeing an atherosclerotic plaque.This is the good cholesterol.

Right type of cholesterol can save your life

Recent studies have shown that many of the subjects had serious coronary blockages and thus at risk of a heart attack, had in common a low level of HDL cholesterol that is “good” can remove particles from the coronary arteries of the dangerous cholesterol LDL before they get to block blood flow.
