The irritable colon, also known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a chronic disorder characterized by abdominal pain, abdominal cramps and changes in bowel habits that can lead to episodes of diarrhea, flatulence and constipation.
Not yet known exactly what causes the disorder, but all specialists agree that psychological factors are very important in their appearance, especially stress and anxiety. Therefore, one way to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel s is the practice of exercise, both cardiovascular and that help us relax. The more we exercise that can help improve the symptoms are:
Abdominal breathing: To accomplish this, we seek a quiet place and sit on the floor with legs crossed, or if we are more comfortable in a chair. We close our eyes and focus on breathing, feeling the abdomen expands and contracts as you breathe. A few minutes after inhaling deeply, inflating the abdomen as possible, expanding the chest and shoulders then exhale all the air. We repeat the breath, slowly, inspiring and expiring for a few minutes until we feel totally relaxed.
Walking: It is as simple as a walk of twenty minutes each day will improve the symptoms of IBS. We must not walk too fast, but at a speed at which we can breathe comfortably. If you have a chance, walk through the countryside or a park, as the green of nature also helps you feel better. If you like running, you can practice running, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Yoga: With regard to Yoga, we can consult with a professional, because there are some positions that are not indicated for IBS. The rest can be of great help.
