We all like chocolate, may be the black semi-sweet, milk or white is always welcome. Well, now there is one more reason to eat it by consciousness. Recent research, published in the journal BMC Medicine, have concluded that eating black chocolate helps reduce blood pressure in people with hypertension.
In reaching this conclusion, the researchers conducted a combination of the result obtained in 15 studies on the effects caused by the flavonoids on blood pressure and is the dilatation of blood vessels.
It should be noted that the study refers to the dark chocolate, one that has a high cocoa content and has a bitter taste. Therefore they should not be confused with those who are high in additives, milk and sugar, as these do not cause the same effect.
On the other hand has also been discovered that the chocolate if it is consumed in small amounts has a positive effect by reducing heart problems.
A report was presented at the annual meeting of the Association of American Cardiology in Chicago, said that the chocolate in small quantities reduces the possibility and risk of heart attack, decreasing the tendency of platelets have to clot obstructing blood vessels.
Also Wheeling University in Virginia, conducted a study that resulted in eating milk chocolate may boost brain function, taking into account that contain multiple stimulants, like caffeine, phenylethylamine and theobromine.
This study also found that eating milk chocolate stimulates both visual and verbal memory, while the black chocolate ingestion is associated with a better capacity for reflection and reaction.
On the other hand, cocoa helps protect the heart and this has been proven by eating a special blend of cocoa which has helped them to adults who are overweight, improve the role that the blood vessels at a time record of two hours after having drunk.
This is a breakthrough that could help reduce the risk of heart disease according to a study by researchers at Yale.
A very salutary effect are given to the flavonoids (plant pigments non-nitrogenous) of chocolate. They are a group of antioxidants that protect the heart and the experiment the researchers used a cocoa without sugar showed it more effective to improve blood circulation.
The more black chocolate has less sugar and that should be consumed with caution and moderation to really give us the benefits sought.
