Prevention of Cardio-Vascular
The cardio-vascular diseases are responsible each year for 32% of deaths in France. This figure could be considerably reduced! In fact, the risk factors on which it is possible to intervene are well known: tobacco, physical inactivity, a dietary imbalance.
Overcoming tobacco:
Tobacco causes 60,000 deaths per year (1995 data). He is responsible for lung cancer, but it also plays a role in the development of cardio-vascular:
o increasing blood pressure
o accelerating the heart rate
o spoiling the arteries
The results of smoking cessation are quickly felt: after one year, the risk of mortality from myocardial infarction decreased by half and after 5 years, find the values of a non-smoker. To stop smoking, there are several methods according to nicotine dependence, motivation (single, patch, acupuncture.). The key is to stop whatever the method.
Overcoming inactivity:
The sport can not only relieve stress daily,it is good for the heart. Physical activity helps the good blood circulation, improves heart rate, regulates blood sugar and cholesterol in the blood.
The sporting activity must be regular and full year. This does not only play sports at the approach of summer! It is advised to practice at least 30 minutes of daily physical activity, tailored to age, physical ability and temperament of the individual. It is essential that the practice of this activity remains a pleasure.
By starting slowly and gradually increasing the intensity, avoid being discouraged too quickly. Make little is better than doing nothing.
Whatever age it is possible to be physically active. The most simple, everyone is walking. We just have to take the stairs instead of the elevator, down one stop before the destination bus, tram or metro.
Overcoming the nutritional imbalance:
The role of nutrition in the prevention of cardiovascular disease is important. Various reports of the World Health and the government argue that eating 5 fruits and vegetables a day reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
For example:
o 1 fruit in the morning
o 2 vegetables at noon (1 starch, 1 vegetable green) and 1 fruit for dessert at lunch
o 1 fruit in the evening
The relationship between cholesterol and atherosclerosis at the origin of myocardial infarction is well demonstrated. Less known to the general public, excessive consumption of alcohol is also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. It is therefore recommended to limit consumption of saturated fats of animal origin (whole milk and its derivatives, meat, offal etc .) but also of alcohol.
