What we classify as VIF?
“Any abuse that affects the physical or mental health of a family member, whether the offender lives or family under one roof”
Jorge Corsi (1992) has defined domestic violence as:
“All forms of abuse occurring between members of a family.”

A distinctive element in the vif is the notion of abuse: this concept refers to the power relationships within the family, and then stated that abuse occurs within the family group, there must be a situation of abuse of power. This is related to dominant cultural conceptions of our society.

TYPES OF VIOLENCE
According to the categories mentioned above, can be also noted the various types in which they are manifested:
Physical Violence: as noted before, includes all forms of aggression that provoke some sort of sequel body: bruises, wounds, burns, fractures, etc..


Psychological violence includes all forms of bodily actions or omissions do not, such as insults, shouts, threats, humiliation, disqualifications, etc..
Sexual Violence including rape, unwanted sexual acts, etc..
Economic Violence include those in such relationships with the management practices in the home currency as a means of manipulation, such as blackmail in the delivery of money, too much control in the use of this, and so on.

 Importantly, the indicated rates do not always exist in isolation, however, you’ll likely find them mixed.

 On the other hand, it is important to emphasize the importance of chronicity when assessing the existence of vif is this element which allows us to determine the severity of the case, the stage where you are and the courses of action to be taken.

Elder Abuse
Can be seen that the most frequent recipients of family violence are the elderly, children and women, which is related to the fact that in our culture these groups appear as the most vulnerable and those with less power within the family hierarchy.
Of these categories the first two are the most frequent and often result in more severe cases.
