The U.S. government will focus its funding of research on vaccines against cocaine and nicotine, according to an official of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
The news came late October and has the merit of leaving without voting. As new way of treatment against addiction, a new therapeutic approach. Regarding cocaine, a study published last October in the Archives of General Psychiatry on a cocaine vaccine showed that the euphoric effects of illicit substance could be stuck on 38% of addicts.

Laboratories chilly
A promising advance, but the addiction move sometimes substitutes. Laboratories remain cautious in the treatment of addicts. Funding could then remain in the hands of governments. On the same principle of “blocking” the euphoric effects, an anti-nicotine vaccine could emerge.



The idea of getting vaccinated against the effects of nicotine will make more of a laugh! It is true that being bitten cons effects of an OTC product is unusual. However, this vaccine could save many lives. When will a vaccine against the euphoric effects of alcohol?
